'Cow Cow' Davenport is often credited with coining the term boogie woogie. This edition of Riverwalk Jazz celebrates the rompin', stompin' rhythms of the boogie woogie beat and its early disciples. They had names like "Stavin' Chain," "Kid Stormy Weather," "Porkchops," "Skinny-Head Pete," "Papa Lord God," "Slamfoot Brown," and "The Toothpick." There were several "Pine Tops." They were one-man bands, and they all played a similar style of blues piano with a heavy left hand and a walking bass. The year 2012 started with them signing with Rise Records and on August they announced the addition of David Escamilla as the second vocalist. During the end of the year, they got really active on YouTube, uploading music videos or covers and that is said to be where they got so many fans. Their debut EP, called “Limitless”, was released on iTunes on November 29, 2011. Another addition to the band was Benn Suede as a new lead guitarist. Describing themselves as an act combining electronica, post-hardcore and electronicore, several least-known rock genres, they have called their genre arena rock hardcore, playing a music that contains “heavy breakdowns, poppy verses and huge concert-ready choruses.” Getting formed in July 2010 by Andrew Velasquez, Hayden Tree, Brandon Hoover and Austin Duncan while they were attending high-school, drummer Alex Massey joined the band, but got replaced in 2011 by Brent Taddie, who remained in the band until today. Crown the Empire is the name of an American metalcore band formed in 2010.
